What to Pack for an Andaman Trip
A practical packing list for a tropical island trip, from beachwear to permits paperwork.
Clothing
Light, breathable clothing for a tropical climate, swimwear, a light cover-up for boat rides, and one smarter outfit if you're planning a nicer dinner. Modest clothing is worth carrying for temple or memorial site visits, including Cellular Jail.
Sun and water protection
Reef-safe sunscreen (regular sunscreen is discouraged near coral reefs), a hat, sunglasses, and a dry bag if you're bringing electronics on boat trips or snorkelling excursions.
Documents
A valid photo ID (Indian citizens) or passport with RAP arrangements confirmed (foreign nationals), plus printed or digital copies of your itinerary and hotel bookings.
Practical extras
A basic first-aid kit, motion sickness tablets if you're prone to seasickness on ferries, and a portable power bank — charging points can be limited on Havelock and Neil Island.
